Quilt for TJ's baby

T.J. works at the school. He does all the government liason stuff like visas, helps when the washer doesn't work or if your stove doesn't light. He is always kind and patient. T.J.'s wife had a baby last month, so I took the opportunity to use some fabric squares with Chinese characters I've been carrying around for 20 years! I had never used them because I didn't know what they said. Our Chinese language teacher, Susan, translated and taught me the phrases and I was able to make this quilt as a result!

The quilt says:

地球 ai di qiu - "love the earth"

自然美 ziran mei – "beautiful nature"

人间福 ren jian fu – "people’s blessing"
